NEET UG 2022 Update Eligibility Criteria Revised, Upper Age Limit removed from NEET Exam

The National Medical Commission has revised the eligibility criteria for the NEET UG 2022 examinations. The official notification for the NEET UG 2022 entrance exams is expected to be declared on the official website of the National Testing Agency soon. As per media reports, in a letter written to the National Testing Agency, the NMC has advised the NTA to revise the eligibility criteria and remove any upper age limit for applying for the entrance exams.
The move will be a relief to many of the aspirants who have been waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the same. The NMC in 2019 had introduced an upper age limit of 25 years for UG exams which was contested and a petition was filed in the Supreme Court.
The matter however was suspended and people were allowed to appear for the exams. The condition of an upper age limit is now revised and there is no fixed upper age limit. As per this, candidates who have completed 18 years of age as of December 21 of the year of the exams are eligible to appear for the NEET UG exams.
Decision made in a recent meeting
In the letter, the NMC has notified that the decision was taken in a recent meeting of the commission, and the NMC has asked NTA to take note of the change before the notification is released.
NTA is expected to release the NEET 2022 notification on the official website soon. Candidates aspiring to appear for the NEET UG 2022 exams can visit the official website of NTA to check the exam schedule and other details. According to a notification released earlier, the NEET UG 2022 notification is expected to be released soon.
